Conjuration of the day of the Sun

I  will start a series of seven articles in which I will present my own translations of the planetary conjurations presented in Richard Kieckhefer’s Forbidden Rites. This work, dedicated to the study of the so called Munich Manual, contains a brief treatise of angelic magic, mainly planetary, that is very closely related with the Heptameron. I think it should benefit anyone working with the Heptameron to be aware of such texts.
The conjurations vary slightly in wording and content, so I added notes comparing them to those in the Heptameron.
Without further a due, the first conjuration, on page 297:
[1.] [69r] Coniuracio diei solis.
A
Coniuro et confirmo super vos angeli fortes et sancti,
I conjure and reinforce upon you the strong and holy angels,
B
in nomine Adonay, Adonay, Eye, Eye, Eyu, qui est ille qui fuit, est, et erit, Eye, Aloraye,
In the name of Adonay, Adonay, Eye, Eye, Eyu, He who is that He is, was, is and will be, Eye, Aloraye,
C
in nomine Sadaye, Saday, Cados, Cados, Cados, altus, super cherubim sedens,
In the name Sadaye, Saday, Cados, Cados, Cados, The High one, that sits upon the cherubim,
And by his own great, holy, strong, mighty and exalted name, in all of the heavens, Eye, Saraye, Maker of the Ages, who created the world, the sky, and the earth, the sea, and all those within them, in the first day of the heavens, and sealed them with his holy name Yhon, upon the earth, which is the seal of the earth, his honored [and] precious name Yhaa,

I conjure [upon you] Raphael, the angel who is the ruler of Sunday,

And upon the sacred name Adonay, God of Israel,  who created the world and whatever is in it,
H

I

quod pro me labores et adimpleas  omnem voluntatem meam et peticionen iuxta meum velle et  votum in negocio et causa mea.
To work for me and fulfill all of my wishes and requests, according to my will and desire in my concern and my cause.

Notes:

A. Most translation would have it " I conjure and confirm you, great angels". I believe the conjurations are actually meant  for the Aerial Spirits, constrained by the angels, not for the angels themselves.
B.
Latin version: Adonay, Eye, Eya, qui est ille, qui fuit, est, & erit, Eye, Abraye
Turner Version: Adonay, Eye, Eye, Eya, qui est ille, qui fuit, est & erit, Eye, Abraye
C.
Lat: Saday, Cados, Cados, Cados.... Eye, Saray.... Phaa.
Tur: Saday, Cados, Cados, Cados.... Eye, Saraye....Phaa
D.
Lat: in primo [*quarto] Exercitu, & seruiunt coram potentissimo Salamia
Tur: in quarto exercitu, & serviunt coram potentissimo Salamia
F:
Lat: Michael, Angele Magne, qui es præpositus Diei Dominicæ
Tur: Michael angele magne, qui es præpositus Diei Dominicæ

  3. I've found the Heptameron invocations to be GREAT as daily planetary invocations/prayers. It's really good to have someone translate and compare these two versions.

    Blessings

  4. Senko, was it your idea to do daily planetary prayers or were you inspired by Key of Rabbi Solomon?

  5. I don t know if it s a good idea to to bind the aerial spirits of the planets by the power of the angels everyday, just because it sounds nice. These conjurations must be done with a specific purpose in mind.

  6. @Asterion:

I agree with you that the conjurations have to be done with specific purposes, but I've found that using the conjurations as daily prayers has improved my relationship with the planetary Inteligences and energies. But tough I use them daily I call them with specific purposes i.e. to be initiated in each planetary sphere and to have the spirits help me overcome daily matters related to them, as you would ask for example a saint.

    + Blessings,

    Senko

  9. What makes you think the are conjurations of the spirits of the air by The 7 Angels of the Week, as apposed to merely invocations of the said angels?

  10. Hi Wesley.

    THe Heptameron says:

These things being performed, let him read the Conjuration assigned for the day wherein he maketh the experiments, as we have before spoken; but if they shall be partinacious and refractory, and will not yeild themselves obedient, neither to the Conjuration assigned to the day, nor to the prayers before made, then use the Conjurations and Exorcismes following.

His peractis legat coniurationem diei assignatam, in qua facit experimentum: vt infrà dicemus. Quò si pertinaces & refractarij sint, neque obedientes se præstiterint coniurationi diei assignatæ, neq; precationibus antè factis: tunc vtere sequentibus Coniurationibus & Exorcismis.

An Exorcisme of the Spirits of the Air.

So in order to conjure these beings, you read the day s conjuration and then you read the Exorcism of the Spirits of Air. The spirits of air are not the angels, but the kings and their ministers.

The conjurations address the spirits, not the angels:

I conjure and reinforce upon you the power of the angels of Sunday, etc.

One could not conjure and reinforce the power of Raphael upon Raphael himself, it s moronic to say so. The only ones to whom the charges may be addressed are the Spirits of the air.

  11. Does anyone have a good handle on the meaning of the various words of power and Divine Names from the Heptameron conjurations?

    Thanks in advance... Jack
